Cleanthemmorefrequentlyindirtyconditions.
Thismachineisequippedwithahydraulicallydrivenfandrive
systemthatautomatically(ormanually)reversestoreduce
radiator/oilcoolerandscreendebrisbuild-up.Whilethis
featurecanhelpreducethetimerequiredtocleanradiator/oil
cooler,itdoesnoteliminatetheneedforroutinecleaning.
Periodiccleaningandinspectionoftheradiator/oilcooleris
stillrequired.
1.Turntheengineoffandraisethehood.Cleanthe
engineareathoroughlyofalldebris.
2.Cleanbothsidesoftheradiator/oilcoolerarea(
Figure
67)thoroughlywithcompressedair.Startfromthe
fansideandblowthedebrisouttowardstheback.
Thencleanfromthebacksideandblowtowardsthe
front.Repeatprocedureseveraltimesuntilallchaff
anddebrisisremoved.
Important:Cleaningtheradiator/oilcooler
withwatercanpromoteprematurecorrosionand
damagetocomponents.

AdjustingtheServiceBrakes
Adjusttheservicebrakeswhenthereismorethan25mm(1
inch)of“freetravel”ofthebrakepedal,orwhenthebrakes
donotworkeffectively.Freetravelisthedistancethebrake
pedalmovesbeforebrakingresistanceisfelt.
1.Disengagethelockinglatchfromthebrakepedalsso
thatbothpedalsworkindependentlyofeachother.
2.Toreducefreetravelofthebrakepedals,tightenthe
brakes:
A.Loosenthe2mountingscrewsandremovethe
brakeadjustmentcover(Figure68).
