6. Remove the battery tray (Fig. 490). 8. Remove the transmission drive belt from the fi xed V
idler (Fig. 492).

9. Secure the engine pulley and remove the bolt and
washer retaining it to the crankshaft (Fig. 493).
7. With a spring removal tool, remove tension from the
center double idler bracket and remove the trans-
mission drive belt from the idler (Fig. 491).
