4. Loosen the 2 nuts on the upper idler pulley bolts
(Fig. 625).
6. Remove the extension spring (located between the
right and left idler bracket assemblies) from the right
hand idler assembly (Fig. 627).

7. Raise the rear side of the mower deck.
8. Remove the shoulder bolt and nut securing the left
hand idler bracket to the mower deck (Fig. 628).
5. Tilt both idler pulleys and remove the upper mower
deck belt from the idler pulleys and the left hand
mower spindle pulley (Fig. 626).
