UsingtheSprayer
BeforeOperatingtheSprayer
Somechemicalsaremoreaggressivethanothers
andeachchemicalinteractsdifferentlywithvarious
materials.Someconsistenciesofsprayerchemicals
(e.g.wettablepowders,charcoal)aremoreabrasive
andleadtohigher-wearrates.Ifachemicalis
availableinaformulationthatwouldprovideincreased
lifetothesprayer,usethisalternativeformulation.
Calibratethesprayerbeforeyoustartthespray
application;refertoSprayerNozzleApplicationRate
(page37).
FillingtheTank
Important:Ensurethatthechemicalsthatyou
areusinginthesprayerarecompatibleforuse
withO-ringsandsealsmadefromuoroelastomer
material(refertothechemicalmanufacturer's
label;itshouldindicateifitisnotcompatible).If
youuseachemicalthatisnotcompatiblewith
uoroelastomermaterial,theO-ringsandsealsin
thesprayercandegradeandleak.
Important:Donotusebrackishorreclaimed
waterinthespraysystem.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface,move
motion-controllevertotheNEUTRALposition,
shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,removekey,andengageparkingbrake.
2.Ensurethatthe3boomsprayer-controlvalves
areintheOFFposition.
3.Adjustthetankshutoffvalvesforthespraytank
thatyouareusing;refertoUsingtheSprayer
TankShutoffValves(page35).
4.Determinetheamountofproductandwater
neededtomixtheamountofchemicalsolution
asspeciedbythechemicalmanufacturer;
refertoCalculatingtheAmountofProductfora
SolutionofChemical(page38).
5.Openthetankcaponthespraytank(Figure44).

Important:Toensurethatyourchemicalsolution
remainswellmixed.Fortheagitationfeature
towork,setthesprayer-pumpswitchtotheON
position,pullbackthetank-agitationlever,andrun
theengineathighidle.Ifyoushutoffthemachine
andagitationisneeded,leavethemotion-control
leverintheNEUTRALposition,engagetheparking
brake,increasethethrottletotheFASTposition,
startthesprayerpumpandruntankagitation.
