Safety functions.
The brake completes the braking system of lathe and makes workpiece fixation possible after its stopping.
Description of brake function.
Brake 6, springs 2 and hydraulic cylinder V 1 for brake control are located on the input shaft of headstock 1.
The necessary force for disengagement the brake 6 is made by applying of pressure oil against piston 4 of single acting
hydraulic cylinder V 1.
The force action from piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder V 1 is carried out through two pairs of Belleville springs 5.
The necessary force for engagement of brake made by means of spring compression 2 and 3 which are adjusted by the
manufacturer. The engagement of brake (time of spindle run out) may be adjusted by means of check throttle valve VZŠ 1
(fig. hydraulics).
The throtle valve VZŠ is mounted into piping B.
CAUTION: (operator) If the hydraulic set is unenergized the brake is engaged by means of spring compression.
Disengagement of the brake is made by applying of pressure oil against the piston of the single acting hydraulic
cylinder if lathe is switched on.
The fast cover of driving section must be screwed on in turning process.
MAINTENANCE of driving section:
V-belt stressing:
• screw off the driving section cover and take it off. V-belts are accessible.
• the electric motor should be supported with a suitable adjustable support.
• release four nuts M 16 of the electric motor plate that makes the
movement of the electric motor in vertical direction possible.
• adjust V-belts to the right tension by means of adjusting screw M 20.
• tighten four nuts M 16 so that the electric motor should be locked in
required position.
Warning: The right tight V-belt is to be of 6,5 mm deflected when the force
of 80 N acts normally to its neutral axis. The point of action of the
mentioned force is in the middle of the flat part of V-belt. V-belts used: 2
pieces of V - belts,
size 9 J/5 - 1900).
CAUTION: (maintenance) before uncovering the driving section or screw
off its lid, the main electric motor must be switched off.
After tightening V-belts the cover of driving section (drive) must be screwed
on.
