11. DHCP CLIENT FUNCTION
11.1 ABOUT DHCP CLIENT FUNCTION
This function dynamically acquires the IP address, which is usually set on the printer, from the DHCP
server when the printer is turned on. If this function is used, there is no need to set the IP address on
the printer in the system mode.
11.2 REQUIREMENTS
• LAN connection environment
Either 1) or 2) is required for LAN connection.
1) PC card
• PCMCIA board (B-9700-PCM-QM)
• LAN PC card (3CCE589ET manufactured by 3COM)
2) Interface board
• LAN interface board (B-9700-LAN-QM)
• DHCP server
