FUEL SYSTEM/ENGINE MANAGEMENT
Evaporative Control System — Engine Off.
When the engine is stationary any pressure
increase in the fuel tank due to a rise in ambient
temperature will cause the fuel vapour to pass
down the breather pipe A, through the roll over
valve to the pressure control valve. When the
pressure is greater than 0.75 lb/in
2
the valve
opens allowing vapour to pass through pipe B to
the cannister. A one—way valve in line A will allow
vapour to return to the fuel tank if vapour
pressures falls and a vacuum is, therefore,
created in the fuel tank.
