3 MOWING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 General
Attention:
1
Check protection prior to commencing work and
ensure it is in protective position. Repair or renew
damaged protection!
2
Repair or renew damaged parts prior to start or
continue working with the machine!
3
Regularly check blade holder pins for deteriora-
tion / wear!
4
Always work using manual throttle control!
1
Select a gear which allows an even stubble to be left.
2
Always use sharp blades for maximum efficiency. Ensure
blades are seated correctly over pins of blade holders.
Regularly check blade holders: if pins are more than
half worn (left less than 6.5 mm; 1/4”) as shown in fig.
then renew the blade holders! Always exchange all
blades or blade holders resp. per drum skirt! Ensure the
blade holders of a drum skirt have the same part
number! Ensure the crop transport strips have not been
worn too much.
3
Drums must be rotating at full working speed before
entering crop.
4
The best mowing results will be obtained when the
machine is level or pitches just a touch forward (the skid
saucers are then operating in their optimum position).
Adjust as follows:
a) Remove spring clip (9) then release handle (10)
from holder (11).
b) Increase forward inclination: rotate handle (10) cw.
c) Decrease forward inclination: rotate handle (10)
ccw.
d) Reposition handle (10) into holder (11) then safety
spindle by re-insertion of spring clip (9).
Attention:
To prevent recutting of the stubble, the mower should
never be tilted backwards!
5
Adjust this using the front three-point hitch. Height “B” will
then be approx. 90 cm. If desired you can limit this posi-
tion using the optional depth limiting chain.
6
Ensure the lift cylinder is in floating position when mow-
ing.
