QE20 Fibre Networking User Manual Document: LT0732
Page 3-10 24 May 2023 Issue 1.0
Simple Example
This simple dial plan will convert the dialled digit (2 4) to a URL.
Dialled Digit
URL
2
2@10.1.1.20:5061
3
2@10.1.3.21:5061
4
2@10.1.99.22:5061
(<2:2@10.1.1.20:5061>|<3:2@10.1.3.21:5061>|<4:2@10.1.99.22:5061>)
In each < > part, the digit(s) before the first : are the dialled digit(s) and the
characters after the first : are the resulting URL. The URL has a format of
line_number@ip_address_of_destination_ATA:UDP_port_number of the line number
at that ATA or PIB. Multiple options are separated by the | character, and all are
included in the (). Note the line number needs to match the User ID assigned into the
line in the ATA, or the channel number of the PIB VoIP proxy.
Dial By SID Example
A dial plan of:
(<:2@10.0.1.>xx<::5061>)
Will produce an “output” of 2@10.0.1., then the two digits dialled xx, then
:5061.
So, the plan will generate, for example, a destination address of 2@10.0.1.89:5061
when the 2-digit number 89 is dialled. This can be used for “dial by SID” (where the
last part of the IP address is the QE20 SID number) and is useful when a QE20 must
be able to connect (one at a time) to many other QE20s.
In the QE20 configuration, the VoIP dial number for each remote panel should be set
to the SID number of the remote panel. Note: all dial numbers need to be two digits,
so 01 - 09 needs to be entered for SIDs 1-9.
Random IP address dial plan example
The dial plan:
(<90:2@10.0.1.21:5061> | <91:2@10.0.1.50:5061>)
Can be used to convert specific two-digit numbers to a URL.
Number Dialled
Number generated (URL)
90
2@10.0.1.21:5061
91
2@10.0.1.50:5061
This example can be used as the basis for creating an arbitrary table of URLs based
on the number dialled (which may not be the target panel SID number). This will
typically be used for All-Call VoIP Proxy addresses.
Mixed Dial by SID and Random IP addresses dial plan example
A dial plan of:
(<:2@10.0.1.>[0-8]x<::5061>|<90:2@10.0.0.21:5061>|<91:2@10.0.0.50:5061)
