3. Principal functions and characteristics of
the system components
3.1 - Smart card reader/programmer
Technical Specifications

Operating temperature: –5 °C - +45 °C.
Function overview:
• The device can be used in two different operating modes:
with or without a configurator. In the latter mode its opera-
tions are controlled locally by means of the dip-switches.
In the former, device operation is controlled via a software
interface on a PC or PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).
• In the operating mode without a configurator, not all the
system functions will be available.
• Antitamper (not used). Function enabled only in conjunc-
tion with the Vimar intrusion-protection system.
