The system functions as follows:
Device and access control:
- Operation with a configurator and interface - see ch. 9,
pg.56.
A MASTER smart card is needed to perform the initialisation,
programming, relay association and IrDA port activation func-
tions.
Programming and data exchange between the reader and
PDA are accomplished via the infrared port or serial link.
Operation with a configurator
- Operation with a MASTER smart card (2 levels) - see
ch. 6, pg. 35.
A smart card programmed as a MASTER is needed to per-
form any operation (initialising, programming, duplicating,
cancelling, changing the code, synchronising readers).
For both types of operation, refer to:
- Associating a relay - see ch. 7, pg. 52.
This procedure associates a relay with the reader. The
associated relay will then be triggered only when the
reader recognises the smart card.
- Activating the IrDA port - see ch. 8, pg. 54.
This procedure activates the communication port between
the handheld and the reader.
