D700/750 E2-E3
Engines of series D700 - D750 (D703-
D753-D704-D754-D706-D756) have been
designed and manufactured to be installed
and equipped "for stationary use" (for exam-
ple on power generating units), or "for self-
propelled use" (for example on earth-mov-
ing tractors).
The various models in the D700 engine se-
ries are differentiated by their power and
performance (See "Technical data").
Main components
A) Cooler: cools the engine oil by heat ex-
change with the coolant fluid.
B) Turbo device: Made up of a turbine
which exploits a part of the exhaust gas en-
ergy to carry out the engine turbocharging.
C) Injector: injects pressurised fuel into the
combustion chamber.
D) "waste-gate" valve: It controls the tur-
bo device activation, depending on the pres-
sure of the exhaust gases.
E) Heat expansion valve: It adjusts the
water temperature according to the engine
working temperature
F) Fuel filter: It traps any impurity
G) Oil filter: It traps any impurity
H) Oil sump: It contains the engine lubrica-
tion oil
L) Suction manifold: conveys the com-
bustion air into the combustion chamber.
M) Water pump: feeds the cooling circuit
N) Transmission belt: It drives the service
parts
P) Injection pump: It feeds the injectors
with fuel under pressure
Engines of model D703 (3 cylinders) are
equipped with a single injection pump
per cylinder, while models D753-D704-
D754-D706-D756 (3-4-6 cylinders) are
equipped with a mechanical rotating in-
jection pump.
Q) Alternating current generator: It pro-
duces and regulates the electric system
voltage
R) Starter: It is used to start the engine
S) Exhaust manifold: It is used to expel
the combustion gases
T) Water manifold: It is used to collect the
coolant from the heads
