Oil filter
The
purpose
of the oil filter is to remove contamination
from the oil. The filter is a full flow filter, which means
that all the oil is filtered before it is forced out into the
lubrication system.
The filter element consists of folded filter paper.
There is a bypass valve (1) at the base of the filter,
which opens and allows oil to flow past the filter ele-
ment if the filter insert should become blocked.
