6.1.1 Handpieces and Foot Pedals
Removing handpieces and foot pedals:
1. Unplug the handpieces by pulling them at their connectors. Never unplug de-
vices by pulling on their cables (Âsection4.16 on page35).
2. Place the instruments in the provided storage box to avoid personal injury or
damage.
3. Disconnect the pedal cables from their ports on the backside of the simulator
PC.
4. Loosely roll the cables up and place the pedals on the side.
6.1. 2 BIOM
If your Eyesi Surgical is not equipped with an optional BIOM, please skip this section.
Detaching the BIOM:
1. Unplug the USB cable from the USB port on the backside of the BIOM (ÂFig.
18 on page29).
2. Hold the BIOM firmly while removing it from the microscope arm.
3. Loosen the two knurled screws that fasten the BIOM to the microscope arm
(ÂFig. 17 on page29).
4. Detach the BIOM from the microscope arm.
6.1. 3 Microscope Eyepieces

transport containers
Detaching the eyepieces from the microscope arm is only necessary if you store
the simulator hardware in the optional plastic transport containers. In any other
case, please skip this section.
CAUTION Risk of injury or damage to simulator
If the bayonet lock of the microscope (ÂFig. 35 on page42) is opened, the
eyepieces can fall off and cause injury or damage to the simulator.
f When opening the bayonet lock, make sure to hold the eyepieces firmly so
they cannot fall down.
