Order number 3305595 | Edition 07/2022 23
6.9 FIRE DETECTION AND FIRE EXTINGUISHING MEASURES
Detectors for fire detection must be installed on site, in the booth or spray wall at the points
intended for this purpose, which initiate appropriate extinguishing measures in the event of
fire detection. Depending on the fire/explosion protection concept, the technical solution
may also vary (fire dampers, extinguishing system, pressure-resistant device design).
The delivery and assembly of the fire extinguishing system is the responsibility of the
operating company. The fire extinguishing system must be fully functional at the time of first
commissioning.
6.10 SAFETY CHECKS
A skilled person must check to ensure that the device is in a reliable state after it is
assembled and commissioned. This includes:
4 Carry out safety checks in accordance with Chapter Safety Checks [829].
6.10.1 Testing Before First Commissioning
The function of the on-site safety shutdown for the air interlock should be tested.
Information on testing for German-speaking users is contained in the VDMA standard sheet
"Procedural guidelines for testing spray systems".
National information is available as needed.
Before first commissioning, the system's settings must be recorded in a report as evidence of
correct installation.
