Restarting a stalled borosilicate glass capillary electrospray
Should the spray stop, you can restart it. To do so, in the Tune window, set
Capillary to 0 kV. Then adjust the three-axis manipulator so that, viewed
under magnification, the capillary tip touches the sample cone, and a small
piece of the borosilicate glass capillary shears off.
If necessary, you can also apply some NanoFlow gas pressure, to force a drop
of liquid from the capillary. Apply as much as 1.4 bar (20 psi). Doing so
induces the drop’s appearance unless the capillary is blocked.
