Steering system check
1. Check:
• Steering system
Excessive play → Check the bushings,
bolts, and nuts.
Refer to “Handlebar assembly removal”
in Chapter 8.
Checking steps:
1. Turn the handlebar lock to lock and push it
back and forth.
2. Check for excessive play of the handlebar.
Jet thrust nozzle steering angle check and
adjustment
1. Check:
• Jet thrust nozzle distances a and b
Difference above specification → Adjust
the steering cable joint.
Checking steps:
1. Set the QSTS grip to the neutral position.
2. Turn the handlebar lock to lock.
3. Measure distances a and b.
Difference of distances a and b:
Maximum 5 mm (0.2 in)
