If installing a new fuel injection pump:
Reinstall the timing grid sticker, provided with
the new fuel injection pump, onto the back of
the gear case / front plate (Figure 17). Align
the "standard mark" (Figure 17, (1)) with the
reference mark (Figure 17, (2)) made on the
gear case during disassembly.
Calculate the difference between the timing
index numbers (Figure 18, (1)) of the fuel
injection pump that you removed and the
replacement fuel injection pump. See
Calculation Example below.
