4.3 CLI command
Basic commands to change/confirm the configuration of Managed Switch are introduced in this
section.
To save the modification for on-going usage, copying “running-config” to “startup- config” in
NVRAM is required. (See section 4.3.5)
4.3.1 Confirmconfiguration(showrunning-config)
To display the current setting of the different protocol packages supported by the switch, use
“show running-config” command. This command only displays the parameters of which values
are different from the default value
To show all the running configuration on the switch, use “show running-config all” command. This
command displays all the configuration parameters even if those values are in defaults.
Both “show running-config” and “show running-config all” commands are available in “Privileged
Exec” mode.
For recording the configuration script as a text file, use the log function of the terminal software.
A sample display of “show running-config” command execution is as shown below.

The exclamation mark “!” flags the beginning of a comment. The comment flag is used to ignore
all the inputs following this mark anywhere on the command line. Any command line that begins
with “!” is recognized as a comment line and ignored.
