4.3.6 PortDisableforunusedport(shutdown)
To disable particular ports such as unused ports, use “shutdown” command in “Interface Config”
mode. The following example shows the commands for disabling port 5.
F040306.ai
(Hirschmann Railswitch) >enable
(Hirschmann Railswitch) #configure
(Hirschmann Railswitch) (Config)#interface 1/5
(Hirschmann Railswitch) (Interface 1/5)#shutdown

To confirm the port status, see section 4.3.3
4.3.7 SetmanagementIPaddress(networkparms)
To assign a management IP address for the Recommended Switch, use “network parms”
command which is available in “Privileged Exec” mode. Network Management System (NMS) is
a typical application required for this configuration.
An IP address for Vnet/IP open communication is available for the management IP address.
Assign a unique IP address to each Recommended Switch in order to prevent IP address
conflicts.
The following example shows the command to set the management IP address to
192.168.1.130/24.
F040308.ai
(Hirschmann Railswitch) #network parms 192.168.1.130 255.255.255.0
