Appendix1.Defaultconfiguration
The Recommended Switches are provided with the customized default configuration for Vnet/IP
to connect to Vnet/IP network as described in the summary below.
For Recommended L2SW, the customized default configuration is as shown below.
• Auto-negotiation: Enable
• Auto MDI/MDI-X (cable crossing): Enable
• IGMP Snooping: Disable
• STP (RSTP): Disable
For Recommended L3SW, the customized default configuration is as shown below.
The default configuration allows the L3SW to connect Vnet/IP domain to each port directly.
• Auto-negotiation: Enable
• Auto MDI/MDI-X (cable crossing): Enable
• STP (RSTP): Disable
• Port based routing: Enable
• IP address assigned each port: See following table.
• Routing protocol: RIP
• Sprit horizon for RIP: Enable (Simple mode)
• RIP update-timer: 1 second
• RIP send version: RIP2 (RIP1 compatible mode)
• RIP receive version: Both RIP1 and RIP2

To modify the configuration of Recommended Switch, use CLI through V.24 serial port.
HiDiscovery, a tool supported by Hirschmann, is not available for the customized default
configuration to harden the security.
The default system alarm condition for FAULT signal contact is power failure.
The FAULT signal contact becomes open when the power supply fails. In case of a redundant
power unit model, the FAULT LED glows in RED when one power unit fails.
