Why is the zero point unstable on my YOKOGAWA Measuring Instruments?

  Several factors can cause an unstable zero point. These include: * Mechanical strain from traction or pressure: Eliminate the source of mechanical tension. * Terminal board or connection terminals of the transmitter or sensor being soiled or damp: Clean the terminal board and connection terminals. Clean and dry the transmitter and/or sensor, and seal them tightly. * Influence of external vibration: Install mechanical dampers or increase the mass flow damping parameter (see the applicable software instruction manual).

  If the field communicator isn't being detected, it could be due to a couple of reasons: * The HART or Modbus DD is not installed: Save the HART or Modbus DD file on the field communicator. * The field communicator is not connected: Connect the field communicator with Rotamass Total Insight; refer to the software instruction manual for guidance.

  An unstable zero point can be caused by several factors: * The measuring tube not completely filled with fluid: Ensure the measuring tube in the sensor is completely filled with fluid. Check the installation. * Bubbles or solids in the fluid: Inspect the pipe and sensor installation. * No electrical grounding: Ground the transmitter and sensor, and check the correct connection of the connecting cable shield on the transmitter.

  If the flow meter is installed near facilities with a strong electromagnetic field, this can cause an unstable zero point. Ground the transmitter and sensor, and install the flow meter as far away as possible from these electric devices.
