6. Operate the UltraSync BLUE and select the H4essential as a connected device.
This starts pairing.
When pairing completes, “Timecode Device Connected!” will appear on the H4essential display.
HINT
See the UltraSync BLUE manual for the procedures to select connected devices.
Use the H4essential and the UltraSync BLUE as close together as possible to make communication more
reliable.
If communication with the UltraSync BLUE is interrupted while recording, timecode data will not be
added to the remainder of the recording.
Checking timecode data
While timecode is being received from an UltraSync BLUE, timecode data can be checked on the Home
Screen.
The timecode appears above the recordable time on the Home Screen as the hour, minute, second and
frame.

Disconnecting from an UltraSync BLUE
Removing the BTA-1 from the H4essential will disconnect the H4essential from the UltraSync BLUE and stop
timecode recording. Pairing information will be retained even when disconnected.
