13.2 Redundant multi-module system
If in a redundant parallel system an UPS module is
faulty, the load will continue to be protected by
the remaining modules operating in an on-line-
mode (INVERTER mode) and the faulty module
can be replaced without having to transfer the
load to bypass!
The same situation exist in the case of module
maintenance, where the remaining modules oper-
ating on-line-mode (INVERTER mode) will con-
tinue to protect the load.
13.2.1 Remove the module from the frame
Skip step 1 and 2 in case of module maintenance.
1. Identify the faulty module with the alarm
condition active.
2. Reset the alarm by pressing the BACK button
on the module panel control.
The acoustic signal will stop. If the alarm
condi- tions persists (relative ALARM LED in-
dicator always RED) the module must be
probably removed for analysis.
3. Load OFF the faulty module by means of the
ON/OFF button present on its control panel
(Confirm with “ENTER” when required).
Perform the same operation in case of mod-
ule maintenance operation.
Do not forget to always check that the re-
maining modules on the parallel system can
still supply the load! (Verify load measures on
the operating modules).
4. Turn to OFF position (open) the relative mod-
ule battery breakers present on the frames.
5. Unscrew the two screws on the front side of
the module that fix it to the UPS-frame.
6. Pull the module only partly horizontally by
means of the 2 black handles until the rear
connectors are disconnected.
7. Wait approx. 5 minutes before completely re-
moving the module from the frame to be sure
the AC and DC capacitors installed in it are
completely discharged.
8. To extract the module completely, press
down the top left yellow tab (as shown in the
figure) and then extract the UPS module by
pulling it out horizontally.

9. Insert new the UPS module or close the
opening (UPS module compartment) with ap-
propriate protection cover immediately (Fix
the cover with two screws).
10. If the problem on the faulty module has
caused a change in the complete parallel sys-
tem operation mode (from INVERTER to BY-
PASS mode or vice-versa) restore now the
original situation.
Transfer the load from STATIC BYPASS to IN-
VERTER mode or vice-versa by means of one
module display or the general TFT display in-
stalled on the frame.
Under the “COMMAND” menu select “LOAD
TO BYPASS” (If required, enter the password
in case the command is performed through
the TFT display).
11. Verify that all remaining modules are operat-
ing on the correct original mode.
