The probe is automatically retracted if the following malfunctions occur:
Cooling water temperature too high
Cooling water flow rate too low
Cooling water pressure too low
Circulation pump failure
Power supply interrupted
Compressed air failure
To protect the process against ambient air from being drawn in and to protect
operators, the duct opening is closed by a shutter when the probe is retracted. This
does not apply, however, to regular retraction/extension for cleaning the outside of
the probe.
The shutter is moved either automatically by a pneumatic drive or manually.
The pneumatic/electric supply is connected at a central transition point. All required
line connections are pre-installed in the probe retractor.
