1 . W ash the alternative site with war m water and
dry, then foll ow S teps 2-4 fro m Chapt er 3,
“ R unning a Blood S ugar Tes t.”
2 . Make sure yo u are using th e clear cap spe cially
design ed for alternative site testing with the
ACC U -C H EK S oftclix lancet device.
3 . Adju st th e clear cap to the highest se tting.
4 . Press and hold the lancet device aga inst a
fleshy area on the alternative site. Press the
release button and continue to apply steady
pressure to the s ite.
D on’t be afraid to apply a lot of pressure to
the area with the lancet device to get a good
blood drop.
