PROFINET IO is designed for the fast data exchange between Ethernet-based field devices and
follows the provider-consumer model. Every module within a PROFINET network has three
addresses: An IP address, a MAC address, and a station name.
The IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and station name of the PROFINET IO card can
be configured via the AccuWeb, Inc. IP Configuration Utility. Please contact AccuWeb, Inc. for the
latest copy of this software.
Important: The station name, not the IP address, is the unique identifier for a PROFINET IO
device. The station name for each PROFINET IO card must be unique on a network and should
not be left blank.
