Management Services (EMS) allows for
remote management of a Windows Server
OS through a serial port.
Terminal Type EMS

ANSI
VT-UTF8 is the preferred terminal type for
out-of-band management. The next best
choice is VT100+ and then VT100. See
above, in Console Redirection Settings page,

Long or noisy lines may require lower

Software Xon/Xoff
Flow control can prevent data loss from
buffer overflow. When sending data, if the
receiving buffers are full, a 'stop' signal can
be sent to stop the data flow. Once the
buffers are empty, a 'start' signal can be
sent to re-start the flow. Hardware flow
control uses two wires to send start/stop
