the connection.
i. Arrange the leads so that they will not touch the clapper (see
figure 8).
j. Align and adjust the probe and stir/freeze wire as instructed in
items 5 and 6, reset the probe bin number as instructed in item 7
and recalibrate as instructed in Chapter 4.
5. Probe and Stir/Freeze Wire Alignment
Proper alignment and adjustment of the probe and stir/freeze wire
are of utmost importance to assure accuracy, precision and proper
operation of the instrument.
The probe bead must be exactly centered in the sample and the stir/
freeze wire must also be properly positioned for optimum perfor-
mance. To facilitate positioning the probe and stir/freeze wire, a
probe alignment tool is included with the instrument and with each
replacement sample probe.
