3.14 Jar leak test errors
Error Possible cause/Suggested action
Jar has not
passed the
corresponding
test
A leak has
been detected
in the vacuum
condition
.
Cause: Hairline cracks in the jar.
(could result from use of alcohol to
disinfect the jar).
Action: Replace the jar. Never use
alcohol or high temperatures (>80
°C) to clean the jar. Advanced
Instruments recommends using a
bleach-alternative product.
Action: Sodium hypochlorite (i.e.,
bleach) solutions are not
recommended for disinfection of the
jars because they damage the inside
of the jar over time.
Cause: Leaking snap-shut coupling on
the lid.
Action:
• Jar coupling can be greased with
Teflon spray
• Replace the lid
• Replace the jar coupling. Please
contact your local Anoxomat
distributor or see Contacting
Advanced Instruments for
replacement parts
Cause: Damaged jar-tube insert.
Action: Visual check: In case the
insert is damaged or shows severe
scratches, the black tube (including
the insert) must be replaced.
Contact your local Anoxomat
distributor or see Contacting
Advanced Instruments.
Cause: Leaking jar–tube (black tube)
Action: Visual check: In case the jar
tube is bent, cracked,or torn, contact
your local Anoxomat distributor or
see Contacting Advanced
Instruments.
• Check other known good jars on
the same jar tube.
• Go to Hardware Tests and perform
a vacuum test on the jar tube.
If the jar passes the test, there is a
problem with the jar.
If the jar fails the test, then replace
the jar tube fitting.
If the problem persists, replace the
elbow swivel fitting.
3.15 Jar seal test errors
Error Possible cause/Suggested action
Error during
fill
Cause: Jar lid not clamped.
Action: Disconnect jar, air out the jar,
reconnect, and process.
Do not tighten or loosen the jar
clamp during processing.
Seal-fill time
error
Cause: Lid is not tight enough
Action: Disconnect jar, air out the jar,
close, retighten clamp, and process.
A leak has
been detected
at near
atmospheric
pressure.
There is not a
100% seal
between the
lid and the jar.
Cause: The lid is not clamped tight
enough on the jar (applies to
standard jars only).
Action: Tighten the clamp a bit firmer.
Cause: The clamp is bent, or the cap
on the screw is damaged (applies to
standard jars only).
Action: Check and, if necessary,
exchange
Cause: The O-ring is not sealing fully.
Action: The O-ring is cracked and dry.
(applies to standard and ergonomic
jars). Check if O-ring is free from
particles like hairs, dust, etc. Grease
the O-ring with acid-free petroleum
jelly
3.16 Pressure too low errors
Error Possible cause/Suggested action
Display shows a value
above 0 Bar and less
than 1.6 Bar.
Increase the regulator pressure.
The regulator output is set too low, or
there is insucient pressure in the
gas bottle.
Display shows 0 Bar • Gas tubing is not attached or it is
attached to the wrong inlet port.
• Cut-o valve at the regulator is
closed, and it needs to be opened.
• Regulator output is completely
turned down. Increase the
regulator to provide pressure
between 1.6 - 1.9 Bar (1.8 Bar is
preferred).
• Tubing inside the Anoxomat is
detached from the pressure sensor.
Open the cover and
reconnect the pressure sensor
tubing.
