APPENDIX 4: Installation details: configuration of NETBOX 4 MH, NETBOX 8 AD,
NETBOX 32 AD and NETBOX DSP.
A4.1. Scope.
The purpose of this appendix is to detail the default nomenclature of audio channels in
NETBOX 4 MH, NETBOX 8 AD, NETBOX 32 AD and NETBOX DSP in order to ease
installation and configuration of a multichannel AoIP audio system.
A4.1.1. NETBOX 4 MH, NETBOX 8 AD, NETBOX 32 AD, NETBOX DSP and DANTE internal
systems correspondence.
Have in mind that:
• DANTE identifies stereo lines as dual mono, so different names are assigned to left and
right channels forming stereo line. Therefore, stereo lines must be managed as dual
mono lines.
• The names of the input and output lines for NETBOX 4 MH, NETBOX 8 AD and NETBOX
32 AD that appear respectively in "NetBox4MH" and "NetBox Tool" applications are not
editable.
The names that are associated by default to input/output lines of NETBOX 4 MH, NETBOX 8
AD, NETBOX 32 AD and NETBOX DSP (as they appear in "NetBox4MH" and "NetBox Tool"
applications) and to associated channels that appears in "Dante Controller" are detailed next, in
order to ease a coherent configuration for both systems and the routing between them. In the
case of NETBOX DSP there are only Dante transmission and reception channels, so there is no
need to establish that correspondence.
