Chapter 1 Start
The Kinetix 6500 control modules can use any Ethernet topology including
star, linear, and device-level ring (DLR). DLR is an ODVA standard and
provides fault tolerant connectivity.
In this example, all devices are connected in linear topology. The Kinetix 6500
control module includes dual-port connectivity. Devices without dual ports
should include the 1783-ETAP module or be connected at the end of the line.
Up to 64 devices in linear configurations.
No redundancy. If any device becomes disconnected, all the devices
downstream loose communication.

TIP 1756-EN2F modules are available for applications that require fiber-optic
cable for noise immunity.
