C.11 Post-Treatment
• Cool the skin with cold packs or air cooling.
• Apply Prednisolone + Gentamicin for 3 days post treatment.
• From day 4, apply Gentamycin twice a day for 3 days.
• Instruct the patient not to wet the area up to 6 days post treatment.
• Wound care is crucial after skin resurfacing; apply a wound healing product.
• Aquaphor
®
or equivalent may be applied as needed for the next 2 days.
• Instruct only to clean, moisturize and use sunscreen for the next 7 days.
• Make-up can be applied to minimize pixel-like appearance 24 hours post treatment.
• If adverse side effects occur (hyperpigmentation), sun protection and post-resurfacing depigmenting agents
such as hydroquinone can be used to help obtain resolution.
C.12 Follow-Up
• Patients should return to the clinic 7 days post-treatment for examination of the treatment area.
• Treatment is complete when satisfactory results are obtained.
• Avoid sun exposure during pre- and post-operative period.
• Results are visible from 1-month post-treatment.
All adverse side effects should be reported to the treating physician with a follow-up report sent to the Director
