Warning
The use of any water-based (ultrasonic) gel on the skin is prohibited!
D.5 Tips Connection
When using the applicator, either the Focus & Focus IN or Glide tips must be selected and connected to the
applicator.
Select the desired tip and connect it to the distal port of the applicator by pushing it in until you feel it "snap" into
place. To remove a tip, hold it with two fingers and gently pull it out.
D.6 Cleaning the Tips
It is imperative that the tips remain clean and free of debris. After each treatment, the Focus & Focus IN
tips should be cleaned and disinfected. The single use roller tip should be cleaned and disinfected prior
to treatment and then discarded .
Warning
Do not treat a patient with not disinfected tip; this can lead to cross-contamination!
Ensure that the tip is absolutely dry before inserting it back into the Applicator and
before treating a patient.
Read the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions carefully before use.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment during cleaning.
Cleaning the Focus & Focus IN Tips
1. Prepare Enzol
1
enzymatic detergent (or equivalent natural pH enzymatic) solution according to the
manufacturer's recommendations (1 oz. per gal. / 8 ml. per liter), using lukewarm tap water.
2. Immerse the tip fully in the solution and soak it for at least 10 minutes.
3. While immersed, scrub the tip for a minimum of 3 times, until all visible soil is removed.
4. Rinse under tap water for at least one minute to remove any residual detergent.
5. Visually examine the tip under normal lighting conditions to assure that all visible soil has been
removed.
