D.9 Skin Test
The purpose of the skin test is to monitor the patient's skin reaction and to rule out unexpected adverse side effects.

D.10 Treatment Considerations
Number of passes:
Focus & Focus IN: Conservative: 1 pass / moderate: 2 passes / aggressive: 3 passes.
Focus & Focus IN: Time for full face treatment: 5-20 minutes.
Glide: 1 pass / moderate: 2 passes / aggressive: 3 passes.
Glide Tip: Never dwell on the same spot! Keep the roller in constant motion.
Down-time:
In first treatment redness and sun burn feeling for a couple of hours or up to 2 days if aggressive. In
treatment setting higher than recommended, pale (moderate) to dark brown (aggressive) pixel pattern and
leathery feeling on days 3-5 with flaking. Swelling in aggressively treated areas through day 5. Full
recovery by days 5-7. Down-time is decreased with subsequent treatments. Since this is an ablative effect
on the treated area, patients with more moisture in their skin experience more redness and sensation with
greater results in fewer treatments. Therefore, a patient with dry skin may require more treatments.
Number of sessions: 1 to 3 for treatments at 3-4 weeks apart.
After the suitable settings have been selected, and the applicator is connected to the system, treatment can
begin.
Note
Always perform a skin test on the intended treatment area during the first treatment session.
