3.4 connecting a usb based caMeRa
Refer also to the manual for your specic camera model- information for an Andor iStar model shown below:
1. Connect the USB cable between the camera and a USB port of the control PC.The iStar CCD is connected via
USB 2.0 and the iStar sCMOS via USB 3.0).

2. Connect the I

C shutter/temperature cable between the Mechelle and the camera.
NOTE: The shutter is optional when using the Mechelle with the Andor iStar intensied camera. However it is
recommended to protect the image intensier photocathode from photobleaching during experimental ‘dead-time’.
