6A.4 External Control power supply
An external power supply is generally needed to keep the field bus fed when the drive is not powered, and to monitor the drive in safety. The function is
available with:
a) GT3000 arranged for this function) External Power supply (SVGT008-166F only)
6A.4.1 GT3000 Identification
The drive configured for this function is identified with suffix 10. Ex. SVGT125FDNNNN10

NOTE:
1. SVGT0P3/0P4/0P6: These drives are not available for external power supply.
2. SVGT008-028: The external power supply is in parallelwith the internal one. See connection diagram in the following pages.
3. SVGT030-166: External power supply is not in “OR” with the internal one, so it is necessary to handle the possible failure
of the external power supply, cutting the power supply of the coil of the main contactor with the Fault relay.
4. The terminals +EBS and -EBS must be connected to the terminals + and of the external power supply
5. The power supply GTAL230F1/GTAL230F1L has two internal fuses and it is suitable for one drive only.
6. If the external power supply is out of order, the control switch off and the drive can't work. It's not possible to operate like a standard drive.
7. If the control supply is external (parameter 06.09=External) the checks on the main power (under voltage, no grid, input phase loss, prech.
fault,...) are active with the drive enable closed only. The drive enable will be close after the turn on of the main power supply.
8. Fault relay:
-SCADA BASIC control board: the relay RL1 cannot be used, because, in case of main power failure it will be de-energized, so it is
necessary to use one of the programmable digital outputs configured as "Drv Fault": on these outputs main supply protections do not have
effect until the “Drive Enable will be closed.
-SCADA PLUS control board: it is possible to use "drive fault relay RL1" because, if jumper JP19=open (see paragraph 3A.5.1), on that
output main supply protections do not have effect until the “Drive Enable will be closed.
It is possible to use the Fault relay (digital output sw.configured for SCADA BASIC or RL1 for SCADA PLUS) to command the main
contactor that, in this way, will be opened if the external power supply goes off during operation.
