WARNING
In general, a neutral cleanser should be used (e.g. Edisonite Super) !
(parts made from aluminum or plastic will suffer damage if treated with an alkaline (pH
> 7) cleaner or solution!)
Use particular care when cleaning or disinfecting long and narrow cannulae or blind
holes, if any.
Follow the special instructions in the next section also.
Frequent reconditioning has little impact on auxiliary parts. Colors may fade or
change, but this does not affect serviceability.
Normally, the end of a product's working life is defined by wear and tear, as well as
damage resulting from natural use.
Tooling/resources: neutral cleaner (e.g. Edisonite Super), running water or moist, lint-
free wipe, brush, soft brush, microfiber wipe (provided by Asclepion, or similar glass
wipe), alcohol or isopropyl alcohol:
1. Procedure for metal parts WITHOUT optics (e.g. laser handpiece spacer):
Rinse the accessory with water to remove contamination from its surface.
Deep clean all parts with brush and neutral cleanser.
ADVISORY NOTE: Use a suitable brush for cleaning cannulae and blind holes, if
any.
Make sure that every point is actually reached. Hold accessory under running wa-
ter.
Make sure that running water flows through cannula openings and that blind holes
are repeatedly filled and drained.
Use an ultrasonic cleaning device if necessary.
2. Procedure for the basic body of the handpiece:
Clean accessible areas of the basic body of the handpiece with a soft, moist wipe.
Never use a wet or saturated wipe.
Neutral cleaner can be used for persistent dirt.
Please ensure that optical surfaces, if there are any inside the basic body, are not
touched!
3. Procedure for optical surfaces:
Accessible optical surfaces must be absolutely clean, lint-free and streak-free.
They should be cleaned only if this is not the case.
To clean optics, try first to remove dirt by blowing or with a soft brush. If neces-
sary, breathe on the optics and clean them with a microfiber wipe (see above). If
the dirt persists, moisten the dirt with alcohol and repeat the procedure.
Ensure, that the alcohol comes into contact only with the glass or metal areas of
the handpiece.
The optics must not be scratched and be clean and lint-free after this.
