6.2.1.5 Procedure
Preparation of patient:
Careful (!) removal of cosmetics
Skin disinfection
Local anesthesia where necessary
Put on laser safety goggles
Therapy parameters:
Spot size
Recommended energy density
1.0 mm 6.0 mm
4 J/cm² - 10 J/cm² for ablation of lesion
2 J/cm² - 3 J/cm² as may be appropriate to fade out rims
Post-treatment
Regular change of dressing until treated area has fully healed
Post-therapeutic measures for sunscreening
Notes
Trial treatment makes sense, because it allows you to gauge the final results of therapy
Avoid any kind of mechanical manipulation on slough areas caused by treatment
Final result of therapy will not be assessable earlier than 6 to 10 weeks after treatment
Erythemas may persist for up to six months
With therapies of greater penetration depth than papillary dermis level (petechial bleeding), there
is risk of scarring
