8.3 Special recommendations for cleaning, disinfecting & sterilizing accessories

The spacer is easily removed from the basic body (at the MicroSpot-handpiece screw off). It
must be cleaned and disinfected immediately after use and before use on another patient. The
spacer (metal part!) can be sterilized. Proceed in accordance with the recommendations in the
sections above for reconditioning of this part.
You are advised to clean the basic body at regular intervals, using a moistened cleaning wipe
and a disinfectant wipe for subsequent disinfection (e.g. Kodan wipe). Follow the instructions in
the sections above as you do this.
The accessible optical surfaces of the handpiece must be checked for cleanliness and if nec-
essary cleaned immediately after each treatment, following the sections above.
For this purpose, the optical unit can be unscrewed from the basic body. Please follow the de-
tailed description in the Cleaning Instruction which is delivered with the handpiece.
We also recommend that the suction tube (included in the deliverables) be cleaned regularly.
