5. Handset Configuration
5.22 DECT Location and LF Location
Note: The DECT location feature is license dependent, see 4.4 Upgrade Handset by License
on page 11. The parameter “DECT Location” must also be enabled in the location device.
Note: The LF location feature is a factory option. The parameter “LF Location” must also be
enabled in the location device. Contact the system administrator for more information.
The DECT location and the LF location feature are equipped with DECT location devices and
LF location devices, respectively, that continuously transmit the following location
information to the handset:
• DECT location devices transmit theirs location IDs and threshold values
• LF location devices transmit theirs location IDs.
5.22.1 Handset Users
For handset users, DECT location is used to indicate the location of the handset in critical
situations when the handset alarm button is pressed. DECT location is configured via the
PDM/Device Manager where the parameter for activation is found at:
Location > DECT location
Location > LF location
5.22.2 System Administrators and Installers
For system administrators and location installers, the handset can be configured and used
to provide important RF information when provisioning, commissioning and analysing a
network of DECT, LF, or both types of location device.
Configuring Handset for DECT Location Data
The handset can be configured to display DECT location data as shown in figure 3:

To configure the handset to provide DECT location data, perform the following procedure:
1 Press the "Menu" soft key.
2 Select "Calls".
3 Select "Admin menu".
NOTE: The "Admin menu" is only visible if the Admin menu is activated. To activate

4 From the Admin menu, select "Location info".
