Bars
Screen
The gray bars screen has eight horizontal shaded bars.
It
is normal for the bars to
have
some uneven areas on their upper and
lower
edges.
The
bars must appear (in
descending order) as going from black to white in even steps.
The
screen may
not
have
any color
in
it. All eight bars must be consistent
in
their shade across the entire bar.

the screen outside the bars
is
irrelevant.
The white line immediately
above the top bar (black) is normal. This screen
tests
the operation
of
the chip set,
especially the TIA
(A202).
