Two modes of heat control are available in using the unit: the manual control mode and the servo control
mode. In the manual control mode, the heater output is controlled to achieve a preselected output level (%); in
the servo control mode, a skin temperature probe is attached to the infant and the heater output is controlled
to maintain the infant’s skin temperature at a preselected level.
Setting the Heater Output (Manual Control)4-1.
The heater output can be controlled as desired. Change it as necessary to warm the infant speedily or slowly.
(1) Press and hold
for one second.
WARNING
Monitor the infant’s condition continuously during
the operation of the unit.
When using a phototherapy unit at the same
time, bear in mind that the heat radiated by the
phototherapy unit may affect the infant’s skin
temperature.
If a heating mattress is used together with the unit,
bear in mind that it may affect the temperature con-
trol of the unit and the infant’s skin temperature.
Bear in mind that insensible water loss may in-
crease during the operation of the unit.
(2) When the “%” indicator on the right of the set-
ting display comes on and the heater output on
the setting display and begin to flash, press
an appropriate setting up/down switch or
to set the heater output to a desired level.
The heater output can be set in the range of 0~100%
in 5% increments.
The set heater output on the setting display and (3)
will stop flashing and remain on, and the heater
output will be set to the displayed level. The heater
will begin functioning at the set level.
