– Fold back the heat shield boot and pry up the clamp -2- and
remove the coolant hose.
– Loosen the hose clamp -3- and remove the coolant hose.
– Remove the bolts -arrows and 1-, disconnect the right coolant
pipe from the cylinder block and remove it.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
• Replace the O-ring after removing.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the
ones used in series production. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
• Used coolant cannot be used again.
– Install the catalytic converter. Refer to

– Install the air filter housing. Refer to
⇒ “2.2 Air Filter Housing, Removing and Installing”,
page 150 .
– Connect the coolant hose to the connector coupling. Refer to
⇒ Fig. ““Connect the Coolant Hose to the Connector Cou‐
pling”“ , page 119 .
– Fill with coolant. Refer to ⇒ Fig. ““Coolant, Filling”“ , page 97 .

Removing
• During installation, all heat shield boots must be installed at
the same location.
– Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to ⇒ Servicing – 4-Cyl‐

– Drain the coolant. Refer to
