IFD500 Series Pilot Guide
Aux Subsystem 5-13
Fuel Planner
The fuel planner includes fields for the type, origin (if type is Point
to Point), destination, ground speed, fuel on board, and fuel flow,
and will produce a computed fuel at destination value (straight
line distance between the two points) and other fuel related data.
The “Type” field choices are “Present Pos” or “Point-to-Point”.
Fuel Planning Calculator
Weight Calculator
The weight calculator provides a means to compute current
aircraft weight and to predict landing weight. Prior to the flight,
the pilot should enter the weight of all passengers and baggage.
The weight calculator computes the current aircraft weight using
the basic empty weight of the aircraft, the entered weight of all
passengers and baggage, and the computed weight of fuel on
board from the fuel planning calculator. If the computed current
aircraft weight exceeds the maximum takeoff weight, then the
value will be displayed in a yellow color.
The weight calculator also computes a predicted aircraft landing
weight using the current weight and fuel at the destination
calculated by the fuel planning calculator. If the predicted landing
weight exceeds the maximum landing weight, then the value will
be displayed in a yellow color.
