4. Troubleshooting
Situation Solution
Short circuit or b ad connection.
1. Check the Signal Backplane for bad con nections. Ensure that all wire units ar e
well connected.
(Note that the +24V supply is generated on the SMPS board and enters the F an
Control board and Cinema Control board via the Signal Back plane)
2. Check the wirin g of the A node fan for short circuits.
3. Check the w iring of the Cathode fan for s hort circuits.
Damaged insulation of the wire unit
(reference 2 image 4-34) of the lower
fan ( reference 1 image 4-34) for the
Card Cage electronics. The fan is
the lower fan located behind the dust
filter at the front of the projector.
Remove the dust filter at the front side of the projector and c heck the insulation of the
wire u nit of the fan.
1. Repair the insulation of the wire unit using shrink sleeve.
2. If not repairable, r eplace the whole wire unit and/or fan. Se e "Card cage fans",
page 312.

Code 5640: “lam p power supplies - zero lamp power supplies detected” (Error)
Situation Solution
Main power cable disconnected
from the LP S unit (reference
1image 4-35).
Check if t he main power cab le is connected with the “M AINS INPUT” socket of the
LPS unit.
Disconnected wire unit between
the Signal B ackplane and the L PS
module (reference 2, LPS side and
reference 3 Signal backplane side
image 4-35).
Reconnect the wire unit between the Signal Ba ckplane and the LP S module.
Malfunction of one of the LPS
units. The red LED “ERR” of the
malfunction LP S unit flashes fast.
Replace the whole LPS module. See "Lamp pow er supply", page 283 or "Lamp power
supply (single module)", page 291.
Defect Signal Backplane. Replace the Signal Backplane. See "Replacement of the signal back plane", page 231.
