6 M26.2 engine: 50 litres with standard horizontal engine oil
sump
Oil circuit
The engine is fi tted with a pressurised lubrication system. The
gear-type oil pump is located on the lowest part of the engine;
it is driven by the valve gear drive at the front of the
crankshaft.
All lubrication points and all auxiliary devices requiring
lubrication are connected by pipes or tubes to the pressurised
oil lubrication system. The timing gears are greased by a
splash lubrication technique.
Pistons are cooled by oil spraying nozzles.
