1.6.2 Danger of damages
Only connect the device to suitable load cells (see chapter 3.6 “Interface”).
Never use pointed objects to actuate the device keys.
Observe the ESD precautions (see "Electrostatic discharge").
Electrostatic discharge
ESD = Electro Static Discharge
General
Electrostatic discharge is not a danger to humans themselves, but to very sen-
sitive electronic components. Humans can cause dangerous voltages through
friction or contact charging.
Therefore, the following precautions should be taken..
- All materials used must be conductive and earthed at the same
potential. This is how existing electrical charges are discharged into the
ground in a targeted manner.
- Access only in ESD protective clothing, i.e. safety shoes, work smock,
etc..
Attention
ESD poses a danger to electronics. Their function can be disturbed, damaged
or completely destroyed by electrical discharges.
