1.6 General System Description
Branson B Series degreasers are used to clean parts using solvent vapors and ultrasonic immersion
in liquid solvent.
There are 4 B Series degreaser models, B452, B950, B1950 and B3550.
They are completely self-contained units and require only connection to electrical power and
filling with solvent to become operational.
Each B Series consists of a tank containing a boiling sump, heated ultrasonic immersion sump,
water separator, refrigerated condensing coil, refrigerated sub-zero coil and a recirculation pump
and filter.
The following options are available:
• 40khz series 7000 ultrasonics (Standard)
• Multiple frequency ultrasonics with series 8500 generators
• Manual sliding cover (Standard)
• Pneumatic power sliding cover
• Seal-less magnetic drive recirculation pump with stainless steel plumbing (Standard)
• Stainless steel recirculation pump with Teflon seals and stainless steel plumbing and tank
insulation for use with high boiling temperature solvents (Perchloroethylene)
• Hand spray with seal-less magnetic drive pump and stainless steel plumbing
• Hand spray with Teflon seal pump and stainless steel plumbing
• Spray manifold with Teflon seal pump and stainless steel plumbing.
• Vertical pneumatic lift for semi-automatic processing in the ultrasonic sump (B452 and B950
only)
• Dual axis pneumatic lift for semi-automatic processing in the boiling and ultrasonic sumps
(B452 and B950 only)
• TDR interface
The following accessories may be used with the Branson B Series:
• Stainless steel basket
• TDR two dimensional robot for fully automatic processing
1.7 Solvent Compatibility
Branson B Series degreasers are designed to be used with non-flammable azeotropic solvents with
boiling points between 85 degrees Fahrenheit and 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Warning: Do not use combustible or flammable solvents in these degreasers. Fire or explosion
may result.
1.8 How Parts are Cleaned
The cleaner uses four methods to remove soils from the surface of parts:
• Dissolvin
g
• U
ltrasonic cavitation or scrubbing
• Distillate spray
• Vapor Rinsing
