4.7 Shut-down
Note: There is no advantage in running the Primary refrigeration system when the heat is shut off.
The solvent emissions will be the same or slightly better if the refrigeration system is turned
off during shut-down periods.
Raise the lift to the fully up position. Do not shut off the air supply.
Caution: The lift may descend without warning when the air source is removed.
Close the cover.
Press the HEAT switch to toggle the heat off.
Press the COOL switch to toggle the primary refrigeration system off. This shuts off the
solenoids. The compressor will continue to run until the refrigerant has been pumped out of the
condensing coil. This may take a minute or two. The compressor may start occasionally and run
for a short period. It should not do this more than 3 times in an 8 hour period.
Press the SUB-ZERO switch to toggle the sub-zero refrigeration system off. This shuts off the
solenoids. The compressor will continue to run until the refrigerant has been pumped out of the
sub-zero coil. This may take a minute or two. The compressor may start occasionally and run for
a short period. It should not do this more than 3 times in an 8 hour period.
4.8 Disconnect Switch
The disconnect switch should remain on during normal shutdown periods.
Turning the disconnect switch off disables the refrigeration compressors and the compressor
crankcase heaters. This may result in refrigerant migration to the compressor and premature
compressor failure. If the disconnect must be shut off, wait 15 minutes after turning off the
refrigeration systems before turning off the disconnect switch.
Turning the disconnect switch off turns the lift up solenoid off. The lift may lower as air leaks
from the air cylinder. Some air seepage is normal.
Note: Power covers will open if the disconnect switch is turned off.
